Captivating Storytelling Photography with Marina Shipova

In this Merit Workshop, Marina will introduce you to her mesmerizing photographic style based on her artistic training and impeccable vision. She will walk you through her step-by-step creative process, conceptualizing her story, selecting the intended mood through working with the models and color values to achieve the storytelling images. You will see the power of seeing shape, emerging forms and lines and will learn how to harness the existing light to create a vision. You will learn her photo editing shortcuts and masterful compositing style. The photo editing portion of the workshop will be recorded for you to follow along as you practice the newly acquired skills. This workshop will be hands-on, so you will be able to capture some images during the session or work with instructor provided sample images. This is not a course you want to miss!

Marina Shipova Biography

Marina Shipova, artist and professor of graphic design and photography for almost 30 years with over 20 years of teaching at Peninsula College in Washington State, has been exhibiting her images at many galleries world-wide and is an award-winning photographer at domestic and international competitions. She is also a world renown artist, graphic designer, illustrator and publisher. Marina's images have been on display at Marvelous Art Gallery (Poole, UK), PH21 Gallery (Budapest, Hungary) and The Space (Vancouver, BC), as well as sold to private collectors. Before immigrating to the United States, Ms. Shipova worked at a Russian television studio where she wore many hats. Besides being the premiere graphics designer, she also produced and starred in various commercials.

Marina’s creativity and passion for classic painterly style photography is her trademark. She is now integrating cutting-edge AI elements into her photography, as well. Her attention to detail, masterful lighting and compositional skills have given her international acclaim.
