Evening In-Person Presentation:

How to Get Started in Volume Photography
by John Ransom

How to Get Started in Volume Photography

Volume photography can be scary for some photographers, but it doesn’t have to be! In fact, adding volume into your business can immediately drop to your bottom line: if you are prepared! Join us for this informative evening to learn what’s involved to get into volume photography (hint: its not as hard as you think!).

Using partners like GotPhoto & PhotoDay, John will walk through how to get started in the different types of volume photography with Schools, Sports & Events (including volume headshots).

John will cover the complete workflow: start to finish. Talking about the systems (i.e. software, websites, etc), lighting set-ups (with a demonstration), post processing, and finally the sales/ delivery of products to clients. Bring your camera if you would like to get some sample images from our session.

- Lighting Set-up for success

- Posing for composites / ‘green screen’

- Editing

- Back-office - website integration

- Sales / Delivery

Sounds like a lot of ground to cover? It is, but as you will see; the key to volume is organization & efficiency. Which, when put in practice, can easily be repeated across the spectrum of volume types.

Members are free. Guests must register and pay in advance. Register early for a discount. No refunds.

ABOUT JOHN RANSOM

John spent 22 years as a wealth management advisor, taking up photography as an ‘aggressive hobby’ in 2009 by taking photos of his 2 kids playing sports.  From there, John discovered PPA in 2011, attending 9 ImagingUSA’s, multiple workshops & countless training sessions. In 2017, John finally left his ‘day-job’, becoming a full time photographer.  In 2018, he met Kevin Winship and purchased Winship Studio, in Clarkston Michigan.  He is the only photographer, but does have an assistant, Jeany that is part time.

In total, between his high schools, pre-schools, dance schools, a Santa program, and a growing focus on corporate headshots for groups/teams John currently photographs more than 5,000 people a year, which also includes a very active, high school senior program.
